The grade school, Central City School, is the only school in this village. Their school nickname is the Citians. In 2002, their basketball team finished 4th in state. In 2009, their baseball team won regional for the first time ever, after several disappointing seasons. However, they were eliminated in the first game by St. John Paul. The school is part of the Oil Belt Conference, which includes the Iuka Pirates, Raccoon Blue Devils, Selmaville Rockets, St. Theresa Rascals, Odin Eagles, Kell Indians, and the Willow Grove Wild Cats. Their rivals are Raccoon and Selmaville.
